Whoopi Goldberg, Charlamagne Tha God Get Into Heated Debate About Biden’s Decision To Pardon His Son Hunter… Check In
President Joe Biden continues to receive wide criticism after pardoning his son Hunter Biden on Sunday. Per NBC News, U.S. District Judge Mark C. Scarsi criticized the president for mischaracterizing the charges against Hunter.
“The Constitution provides the President with broad authority to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, but nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history,” Judge Scarsi wrote.
Charlamagne tha God found himself in a heated debate with The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg as he appeared as a guest on Wednesday’s episode. Charlamagne criticized the Democratic party for standing on a “moral high ground all the time” and acting “so self-righteous.” He specifically took issue with Biden’s decision to pardon Hunter despite previously stating that no one is above the law, Deadline reported.
Goldberg fired back, saying she doesn’t blame President Biden for changing his mind and pardoning Hunter.
I think he changed his mind because he got sick of watching everybody else get over,” she said. “And this is just my feeling because at some point you get to a place where you just go, ‘So I’m just going to follow the straight and narrow always,’ because that’s what’s expected of Democrats.”
Turning to the panel, Goldberg asked why the public continuously gives President-elect Donald Trump a pass to do whatever he wants. Charlamagne then compared politics to sports fans, saying Democrats and Republicans “refuse to be objective about anything.”
As Charlamagne pressed Goldberg on whether she thinks President Biden is wrong for pardoning his son, she answered, “I don’t.”
Well, that’s ridiculous,” Charlamagne responded.
Goldberg’s response? “You’re ridiculous.”
The tension cooled off once Charlamagne clarified that he was calling Goldberg’s answer ridiculous rather than her. Following their heated exchange, they hugged each other to show there were no hard feelings.
