Update: Former Fox News anchor claims Trump and Vance’s confrontation with Zelensky was ‘planned…. Check In

Donald Trump and JD Vance appeared to have ‘planned’ the spat with Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House, according to a former Fox News anchor.
Donald Trump and JD Vance’s clash with Volodymyr Zelensky appears to have been “planned,” according to a former Fox News anchor.
During their meeting this week, the President and Vice President criticized the Ukrainian leader for not showing enough gratitude for US support amid Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.
Their fiery exchange in the Oval Office, which was televised live, has been the subject of global commentary since Friday, with some suggesting that the argument was “staged.”
Journalist Gretchen Carlson, 58, seemed to agree with this theory when asked for her opinion on the altercation during a CNN morning panel.
Network anchor Abby Phillip said, “It’s all about kind of like, are you, are you grateful enough? Are you saying thank you enough, do you love me enough as opposed to the life? It’s life and death that we’re talking about.”
Gretchen, a former correspondent for Fox News and CBS News, expressed her belief that the exchange was “completely planned” while noting that Trump conceded the argument made for “great TV.”
She elaborated, “I mean, even Trump said this was great TV, and it’s sort of like he let the cat out of the bag. Like, I think that this was staged, planned, because Trump and Vance know they’re playing to the American public more than anything else.
And if you go on any social media, you’re seeing people say, yay, we got America back again, make America great again. And I was asking, how does this make America great again? I mean, this is different than being tough on crime or tough at the border. This is like, okay, I guess we’re not going to give $350 million to Ukraine anymore. But what about US security?”
Trump accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War Three,” and both he and his deputy, JD Vance, criticized the Ukrainian President for allegedly not showing enough gratitude for US military aid.
The meeting concluded with reports of Zelensky being ejected from the White House, and plans to trade Ukrainian mineral rights for American arms were put on hold.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump later claimed that Zelensky was not “ready for peace” and told journalists that the Ukrainian leader was keen to “fight, fight, fight”, while the US was seeking to “looking to end this death.”
Subsequently, the Ukrainian President had a meeting with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The leaders engaged in crucial discussions about the war in Ukraine.
Earlier on Sunday, Sir Keir stated that the UK would collaborate with France “and possibly one or two others” to devise a peace plan for Ukraine, which will be presented to the US for consideration.
