Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s search for meaning in post-royal life leads to questions over their intentions
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed to have trouble finding meaning in post-Royal life as they struggle to maintain balance between entertainment and humanitarian work.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed in hot water after they were called out over their recent appearance at the Pasadena Convention Centre to comfort the survivors of LA wildfires.
According to GB News, Royal correspondent Cameron Walker said that the duo is “straddling two different worlds” and struggling to define their place after stepping down as senior working Royals in 2020.
“It is difficult for Meghan and Harry trying to find their place in the world,” he told the publication. “Are they media entertainment personalities or are they going to be humanitarian workers?”
“I think at the moment, they are straddling those two different worlds and they are trying to find their place within it,” the expert added.
He continued: “If they were still working members of the Royal Family and this [wildfires] was happening in the UK, I suspect we would see them doing something similar.
“I think this could be one of the last hurrahs in terms of their Netflix deal, Meghan’s cooking programme.”
This comes after Justine Bateman branded Harry and Meghan “disaster tourists” seeking a “photo op,” after they were pictured consoling victims and handing out food to the survivors.
“Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved,” the actor penned on X (formerly Twitter).
“They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now? They don’t live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists.”
