Despite initial flop with Spotify, Markle will return to podcasting

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is sparking speculation about the return of her podcast Archetypes.

This follows hints from Lemonada Media, the podcast company she partnered with in early 2024, as well as Meghan’s dynamic start to 2025, which includes a new Instagram account and Netflix trailer.

On Instagram, Lemonada Media teased new content for several of its shows, including Archetypes, which originally explored the stereotypes and labels holding women back. Fans quickly noticed the mention, fueling hopes that the award-winning podcast might return later this year.

Launched in August 2022, Archetypes featured A-list guests like Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Jameela Jamil. It debuted as Spotify’s No. 1 podcast in 47 countries and received accolades, including a People’s Choice Award and a Gracie Award for Meghan as best entertainment podcast host.

Despite this, the podcast ended in 2023 after just one 13-episode season when Spotify and Meghan’s Archewell Audio parted ways.

The split followed reported disagreements over content production, with one Spotify executive controversially labeling Meghan and Prince Harry “grifters”.

In February 2024, Meghan announced her new podcast deal with Lemonada Media, a female-founded company. She shared her excitement about reintroducing Archetypes to a wider audience and collaborating on new content.

“Our plan to re-release Archetypes…as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works,” she said in a statement at the time.
