Meghan Markle’s As Ever Crest Was “Intentionally Designed” as a Tribute to Husband Prince Harry….Read More

So far, most everything about As Ever has a deeper meaning.
Much ado has been made about Meghan Markle’s relaunched lifestyle brand, As Ever—including its logo, which has a deeper meaning than one might pick up on at first glance.
After teasing the new name of her brand for weeks on her personal Instagram page (she has signed off multiple posts “As ever” since rejoining the platform on January 1), the company formerly known as American Riviera Orchard officially got a new name on February 18, revealed in a video shot by Meghan herself. Then, on February 20, Meghan further proved she’s queen of the Easter eggs by likely subtly revealing As Ever’s first product offering: raspberry jam. Labels for As Ever’s debut fruit preserve ended up on a mood board Meghan posted on social media Thursday.
As the brand rollout continued—which included a website featuring a never-before-seen photo of Meghan and Princess Lilibet walking together through a lush California landscape—the company’s logo was also revealed. The crest, which features a palm tree in a nod to Meghan and husband Prince Harry’s home in Montecito, California, also featured two hummingbirds—a favorite of Harry’s, a source speaking to People said, confirming that the logo was “intentionally designed” with a tribute to her husband.
“The distinct shape enclosing the birds and tree was intentionally designed to create a unique and personal emblem,” the source said.
Harry wrote about hummingbirds in his 2023 memoir, Spare, particularly about finding one in their home in California after the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in 2022. Noting how hummingbirds are interpreted as a spirit symbol in some cultures, Harry wrote, “I thought hopefully, greedily, foolishly: Is our house a detour—or a destination?”
The palm tree chosen for the crest is also symbolic of Meghan’s love story with Harry. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan told the outlet that two conjoined palm trees caught Harry’s eye when they toured the house that would ultimately become theirs (along with their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet).
See how they’re connected at the bottom?” Meghan recalled. “He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’” She added, “And now, every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.’”
