Social media users are discussing South Park’s ‘worldwide privacy tour’ episode once again, following Meghan Markle’s Instagram launch.
The ‘humiliating’ episode of South Park titled ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’ is circulating on social media once again as fans discuss the episode following Meghan Markle’s latest Instagram upload.
The Duchess of Sussex posted a video on January 1 as she made a surprise return to the social media platform.
In the short reel uploaded to her account – which has the simple handle of ‘Meghan’ – the former working royal can be seen running along the beach before she writes ‘2025’ in the wet sand.
Referring to the South Park episode, royal observers took to social media to talk about her return to a public posting. One wrote: “Meghan Markle launches her 2025 Worldwide Privacy Tour.”
Posting a link to the South Park clip, another said: “Let the Worldwide Privacy Tour begin. After months and months of complaining about social media & claiming she doesn’t even look at it, the grifting is in full force
South Park parodied Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Episode 2, from Season 26, by centering the episode around the fictional Prince of Canada and his wife (allegedly representing Harry and Meghan), who travel to the small town of Colorado.
The episode follows the couple as they strive for a normal, low-key life. They attempt to do this – on a global tour audibly demanding privacy.
Following the release of the controversial episode which saw the couple being ‘mocked’ a source told The Spectator that The Duchess of Sussex was “annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all”.
On her new account, the 43-year-old already has more than 800,000 followers (at the time of writing), and her personal video has been viewed over 4.5million times.
The video has also received positive reactions from Meghan’s fans. One wrote: “Can’t believe that Meg is officially back on Instagram. She really started this year with a bang…”
Another Meghan Markle fan added: “Waking up and remembering that it wasn’t a dream. meghan markle is really back on ig.”
A third fan said: “Meghan Markle is back on Instagram the world is healing.”
Meghan has not posted on Instagram since her launch post yesterday, which had the comments switched off. The account was created in 2022, but only launched publicly yesterday.
The 43-year-old, who married Prince Harryin 2018, stepped down as a working member of the Royal Family five years ago. Following their departure from the UK after fleeing to the US, which was dubbed ‘Megsexit’, the pair have not had a joint or personal account since.
