On Saturday, actress Jessica Alba shared a collection of videos and pictures from actress Kerry Washington’s birthday party on Friday, which included their friend Meghan Markle as a guest. The event was themed, focusing on a new moon ceremony for “fresh starts,” and included setting intentions in journals, smoke and fire cleansing, crystals, and astrological readings.

In a TikTok, the Duchess of Sussex can be briefly seen sitting in a meditation circle and then at the dinner table as Alba walks in carrying a plate of iced donuts with burning birthday candles. The group sang happy birthday to a glowing Washington.

The TikTok also included an explanation of the ceremony and the significance of the first new moon of 2025, offered by Jill Wintersteen, an author and the founder of Spirit Daughter, based in Venice Beach.

“New moons are a time for fresh starts … and this night was just that. We connected, #manifested, released what no longer serves us … Feeling extra #grateful — to more nights like these,” the star went on.

Wintersteen shared some images from the night as well, writing in the caption, “Magic happens when women gather in circles. I’m honored to have spent the first new moon of 2025 in a room full of powerful women who are all leaders within their communities.”

The group all seemed to be dressed casually and comfortably for the low key celebration. Markle appears to be wearing a long-sleeved white top, leaving her hair down. The Suits star has known Washington for a number of years, and they were recently seen together at the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala in December 2024, where they honored director and producer Tyler Perry.
