Just In: One conversation King Charles refuses to have with Kate Middleton amid cancer battles….See More
King Charles and Kate Middleton are said to have become closer since both being diagnosed with cancer last year.
After both announcing in 2024 that they were battling undisclosed cancers, a royal expert has revealed that King Charles and Kate Middleton’s bond has been “strengthened”. However, despite their closeness, there is still one conversation that Charles refuses to have with his daughter-in-law.
Royal author Christopher Andersen has claimed to Fox News that Charles hasn’t spoken to Prince William and Kate about their eventual ascension to the throne. The author said, “The king is not about to be giving Kate advice about being a future queen.”
“That would simply give oxygen to the notion that he might not be around much longer, and Charles III intends to stay put on the throne for years to come.”
Charles, who waited 70 years to become King and was the longest-serving heir apparent in British history, is said to be “so impressed with her grace and grit”, that he honoured Kate with a Royal Companion of Honour.
This move is said to be an “unmistakable sign of his faith in her ability to help carry the monarchy forward.”
According to Christopher, Queen Camilla is similarly tight-lipped on the matter, “[Camilla] has not felt compelled to speak with Kate about what it’s like to be queen.”
It comes after Us Weekly claimed that the topic of William becoming the next king is a “sensitive” one.
“Charles has wanted to be the monarch for decades,” an insider said. “Even though he’s battling cancer, he’s not letting that get in the way of his desire to be successful on the throne or a dynamic leader.”
William is believed to be planning for his future “behind the scenes”, with the insider adding that he “takes being a success in the royal role very seriously”.
Kate took a step back from the public eye for most of the year while she completed chemotherapy and in the last few months, the Princess of Wales has made a gradual return to royal life.
At the end of last year, Kate attended several events and took part in the royal family’s annual walk to church, where she was greeted by countless well-wishers. This has led many people to wonder what 2025 will look like for Kate and her return to work.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, a royal insider shared: “There is no huge reset button that’s going to be hit in January. What we will actually see is a slow continuation of the Princess balancing her recovery and her public-facing duties, as she outlined back in September.”
They add that there are no plans for Kate to take part in any full-scale foreign tours, despite William previously saying he has several trips lined up in the coming months.
