Jay-Z’s lawyer claims the rapper will soon be cleared of rape allegations, calling the claims “obviously false.”

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is expected to be cleared of a lawsuit alleging he and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped a minor in 2000, according to Carter’s lawyer, Alex Spiro.

Filed under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, the lawsuit accuses Carter and Combs of sexual assault at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.

Spiro dismissed the claims, calling them baseless and stating, “Mr. Carter isn’t going to get shaken down. This case needs to be dismissed.” He also distanced Carter from Combs, who is currently facing federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges. “There is no friendship or longtime bond here,” Spiro said.

The lawsuit, filed by an anonymous accuser known as “Jane Doe,” alleges Carter and Combs assaulted her after she was drugged at the party. However, inconsistencies in the accuser’s account have surfaced, including discrepancies about her father’s involvement and the presence of other celebrities.

Carter strongly denied the allegations in a statement, urging the accuser to file a criminal complaint for “real justice.” Spiro has asked the court to dismiss the case or reveal the accuser’s identity.

The accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, stated his firm conducted a thorough investigation of the claims, which they believe are credible. The accuser, now 38, stands by her allegations, seeking unspecified damages.

Combs, named in multiple lawsuits, has denied all accusations. His legal team described the cases as “shameless publicity stunts.”
