Goldberg alleged that an unknown entity was using her image to hawk weight-loss methods on social media. “They have me selling bad weight-loss drugs,” the Oscar winner said.

The Whoopi Goldberg War Room™ has detected a new international threat: Cyber terrorists using the actress’ image to hawk faulty weight-loss supplements!

Following historic battles with the creators of the Diablo video game franchise, an army of invading cacti, and “really dumb” questions written for her by The View staff, Goldberg’s unofficial military has apparently added an entity of unknown origin to its watchlist after the Oscar-winning Ghost actress took aim at those using her AI-generated likeness to sell products online.

I’m going to do this,” Goldberg said to an off-camera member of The View’s staff on Wednesday’s live show, deviating from the planned commercial break to issue a warning. “I’m giving everybody a heads-up. There’s a phony weight-loss ad floating around online on Instagram that has me, AI-mouthed, saying all kinds of stuff.”

Goldberg stared directly into the camera for most of her statement, stressing to fans that she doesn’t “sell anything” and not to trust any ad unless she says, “‘Hey, it’s me, Whoopi'” first.

I don’t know what it is, I had nothing to do with it, and I don’t want y’all thinking that this is coming for me,” the 69-year-old said, reminding viewers that she publicly discussed lost weight using the drug Mounjaro. “But, this stuff, I don’t know who these people are. That’s the problem with AI. You don’t know who made it, but I’m telling you it’s a lot of BS. Don’t fall for it!”

When reached for additional information, Goldberg’s publicist referred Entertainment Weekly back to Goldberg’s on-air comments on The View.

Goldberg also previously addressed her body on a 2022 episode of The View, in response to a movie review for her latest project at the time, Till, that unintentionally shamed her weight by speculating that the actress wore body-altering prosthetics on camera.

There was a young lady who writes for one of the magazines, and she was distracted by my fat suit, in her review,” Goldberg said on the episode about a portion of the critic’s review that was subsequently deleted from the original piece. “I don’t really care how you felt about the movie, but you should know that was not a fat suit, that was me…. I assume you don’t watch the show, or you would know that was not a fat suit.”
