Joy Behar recalled being with Hostin when construction workers yelled at Behar — and Hostin apparently yelled back.
The View cohost Sunny Hostin took her disdain for Donald Trump to the streets — literally — as the legal expert and former prosecutor revealed on Thursday’s episode that she once yelled at a group of construction workers over disagreements about the controversial political figure.
During a passionate Hot Topics debate about the ethics of Morning Joe cohosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough meeting with the president-elect for a background discussion ahead of January’s inauguration, Hostin and panelist Joy Behar recalled a time they once had a public showdown with construction workers over Trump.
After ex-Trump staffer and View cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin sided with the Morning Joe duo amid sustained backlash, and agreed that she would also meet with “any subject that I regularly talk about to ask questions” and gather information to bolster her perspective, Behar cut in to advise her colleague about her own experience in engaging with people who share differing opinions.
You’re talking to someone who talks to construction workers on the street about Trump all the time,” Behar said, with Sara Haines jumping in to quip, “Yell at construction workers!”
Hostin quickly corrected her, however. “No, that was me,” she said, going on to repeat “that was me” an additional four times while Behar confirmed: “No, they yell at me! They yell at me, she yells at them. We work together!”
Behar has referenced her public tussles with Trump supporters several times in the past, including on a January episode of The View, where she revealed a man with pro-Trump views (and who also didn’t recognize her) once told Behar on the street that she “could be a hot Joy Behar,” to which the comedian replied, “I am a hot Joy Behar!”
Behar also famously tussled with an Italian woman on a train in 2023, as she once informed her peers that her European vacation included a clash with a locomotive stewardess who wouldn’t let her use the first-class bathroom — so, naturally, Behar said she called the lady “a bitch.”
