Breaking: Super Bowl XXXIV champion demolishes Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs: “They were never a good team…..See More

Kurt Warner warned that the team must undergo a thorough renovation.
A nalysts and fans continue searching for explanations for the crushing 40-22 defeat the Kansas City Chiefs received from the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. However, for quarterback Kurt Warner it all comes down to one simple reason: The Chiefs were not such a good team this year
The former signal-caller for the St. Louis Rams knows a thing or two about winning and losing Super Bowls. After all, he hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy with the Rams after the 1999 season but lost it in 2001 with St. Louis and 2008 with the Arizona Cardinals.
Even though the Chiefs were the dominant force in the AFC, Warner could not help but notice the team’s shortcomings. “I saw flaws in this team all year long,” he said on the latest episode of The Rich Eisen Show. “I couldn’t figure out how they even got, here.”
The Chiefs must go back to the drawing board
Despite the defeat on February 9, Warner admitted that the Chiefs have a solid core. “They’ve got a great quarterback, great coach. They’ve got some really good pieces,” said the two-time MVP.
However, he also warned that the beating they received from the Eagles should be a wake-up call for the front office headed by owner Clark Hunt and general manager Brett Veach. “Now the Chiefs’ brass has to look at this and say, ‘OK, we made it here, but we need to retool.'”
Warner explained, “This game put a spotlight on their flaws. And when you go up against a really good football team, those flaws become bright lights.” The effort must encompass the entire team, said the former quarterback, “They need to improve across the board, especially on offense.”
