Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco surprised fans, debuting Bluest Flame from their upcoming album I Said I Love You First

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco surprised fans at the New York IMAX screening of Spring Breakers, the 2013 A24 cult classic, by debuting their unreleased song Bluest Flame, according to Entertainment Weekly. The track will be featured on their upcoming collaborative album, I Said I Love You First.

Joined by her fiancé Blanco, Gomez took the stage to express her gratitude to fans. “Thank you so much, this movie means the world to me. And just that you guys are here, it’s so special. I’m so grateful for you guys, and I hope you enjoy everything we put together,” she said, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

After the credits rolled, Bluest Flame played as an exclusive preview. Blanco then surprised attendees by announcing that they would receive the song a day early via a flash drive, making the event even more memorable.

Directed by Harmony Korine, Spring Breakers marked a turning point in Gomez’s career, shifting away from her Disney Channel image. In the film, she plays Faith, a religious college student who serves as the moral anchor among her reckless friends. Initially controversial, the film has since gained cult status for its bold visuals and satirical take on spring break culture.

Reflecting on the project in a past Entertainment Weekly interview, Gomez credited her mother for encouraging her to take on the role. “My mom started it all by helping me get Spring Breakers, a project I’m proud of despite its uniqueness,” she shared.

With the upcoming release of I Said I Love You First, the screening gave fans a special first listen to Bluest Flame, setting the stage for what’s next in Gomez and Blanco’s musical collaboration.
