Breaking: Prince Harry Is Hosting Some Important Royals at This Year’s Invictus Games….Read More

Prince Harry may not be hosting the British royal family at this year’s Invictus Games, but that doesn’t mean the events will be devoid of royalty altogether. On the contrary, and according to the Danish royal family’s website, it seems Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife, Princess Marie, will both be in attendance.

The Invictus Games will take place from February 6-17, in Vancouver, Canada. Joachim and Marie will make the trip west from their home in Washington, D.C., where they have lived since 2023 for Joachim’s job at the Danish Embassy.

Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014, and since then, the biannual events have served as an opportunity for wounded, injured, and sick veterans and active military members to compete in adaptive sports competitions. The games are held in major cities around the world, and 2025 will be the second time hosting for Canada.

Perhaps most notably, this year’s games were designed to be extra “family-friendly,” so much so that Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Archie and Lilibet, may even make an appearance.

“The Sussexes have been very involved with the organizational elements of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler events and it was very much their idea to make this a family-friendly games so that those taking part can bring their children along,” a source recently told Express.

As for the rest of the royal family? The last time one of Prince Harry’s estranged relatives attended the Invictus Games was back in 2014, when Prince William, then-Prince Charles, Camilla, and Princess Beatrice were all in attendance. Harry reportedly attempted to visit with his father and brother during his visit to the U.K. last spring, but was unsuccessful. The brothers have been at odds since 2018.

Of course [King Charles] would like Harry to be the prodigal son and come back and would be much happier if William and Harry were friends again. But he realizes that is just not about to happen,” royal biographer Ingrid Seward, author of My Mother and I, told People. A palace insider agreed, adding, “Families are complicated. They may be a high-profile family, but they still have a lot of the same issues as everyone else.”
