Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have suffered a blow as a financial gulf between the Sussexes and Prince William’s foundation has emerged.

The stark financial divide has emerged between the charitable foundations of Prince William and Prince Harry, with newly released figures showing a dramatic difference in their fundraising success.

The Earthshot Prize, Prince William’s environmental initiative, has reported a total income of £23.5 million in its latest annual report.

In contrast, Prince Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation raised just £4.67 million from all sources during the same period.

The figures highlight the growing financial gulf between the two royal brothers’ charitable endeavours.

The success of Earthshot’s fundraising becomes even more apparent when examining its underlying growth, with donations surging by 68 per cent after taking into account that for £8.6 million of the £22.5million raised the previous year was from a one-off donation from The Royal Foundation.

A particularly notable achievement comes from The American Friends of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, which more than doubled its contribution to £6.1 million from £2.7 million in the previous year.

This single American contribution alone exceeds the total amount raised by the Archewell Foundation.

The Earthshot Prize’s founding partners contributed £14.4 million to the environmental initiative.

A significant portion of the foundation’s funding came from a single £3.9 million donation from an individual donor.

An additional £260,000 was contributed by five separate individual donors.

Tax filings reveal that both Harry and Meghan maintain a one-hour-per-week involvement in Archewell’s operations, which is standard practice for directors of U.S. tax-exempt organisations.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not receive any salary from the foundation, according to the tax records.
