As the brand new spin-off Suits LA premieres this weekend, fans everywhere are wondering if Meghan Markle will be reprising her role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama

This weekend the new highly anticipated spin-off ‘Suits LA’ is premiering and many fans are eager to see if Meghan Markle will be making a surprise cameo appearance.

On Sunday, Feb. 23, Suits LA will be debuting on the NBC network breathing new life into the fan favorite legal drama. The upcoming show follows the life of Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who is starting anew in Los Angeles.

In sunny California, Ted will be taking on the entertainment business where he will represent some of the most powerful clients in the city. Along the way, Ted will confront hard truths about his former life and the events that led him to pack his bags and move across the country. And as the Suits spin-off takes off, many long-time fans of the show are hoping to catch a glimpse of Meghan. But unfortunately, the former actress does not have any current plans to reprise her former role of Rachel Zane.

Meghan previously starred as the fan favorite character Rachel Zane on Suits. Rachel was part of the core cast and was an attorney and former associate and paralegal at the New York based law firm Specter Litt. She was also the daughter of Robert Zane and the wife of Mike Ross. In the series, Rachel was known for her ambitious, intelligent, and competitive nature and had a strong drive to prove herself whether it was in or out of the office.

Meghan took on the role of Rachel on Suits for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018, with her last on-screen appearance during the season seven finale. Rachel’s story wrapped up with a happy ending as she and her on-screen husband moved away to Seattle, Washington where they opened their own law firm.

While she was a talented actress back in the day, Meghan has since retired and has shared no intentions of ever returning to the big or small screen. In 2018, Meghan stepped away from Suits after becoming engaged to Prince Harry. Soon after she and Harry moved to the UK where they held their famous royal wedding and she officially became the Duchess of Sussex.

Reflecting on her Suits departure in a BBC interview, Meghan shared: ‘”I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change, and added: “It’s a new chapter, right? I’ve ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to work with [Harry] as a team.”

Before quitting Hollywood, Meghan starred in a number of television shows and movies, although Suits remained her most widely recognized role. Some of her other successful projects as an actress included her roles in Horrible Bosses (2011), Dater’s Handbook (2016), Remember Me (2010), A Lot like Love (2005), Deceit (2006), among others. Now, Meghan is a mother of two children and has launched her own lifestyle company American Riviera Orchard.
