At least 15 people have been injured in the incident that took place at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Monday, reports said.
Hours before a Delta Air Lines plane crashed in Canada on Monday, Toronto’s Pearson International Airport warned it was cleaning up a runway so that aircrafts could “safely arrive and depart” following a weekend snowstorm.
The Delta flight was arriving from Minneapolis on Monday when the accident took place. Video on social media showed the plane upside down on the tarmac, as passengers evacuated the aircraft.
“Here’s a look at part of our airfield this morning as the clean up continues from this weekend’s storm,” Toronto Pearson Airport wrote on X, hours before the accident on Monday.
Our crews worked all weekend to keep the roughly 5 million square meters of airfield clear of snow to keep planes arriving and departing safely.”
All 80 people onboard the aircraft were evacuated. At least 15 people, including a child, were injured in the crash. Two people are in critical condition, CTV reported
