Breaking News: the Hot Topics table at The View erupted into a spirited debate that left moderator Whoopi Goldberg visibly exhausted—and hilariously disengaged. The subject? The endlessly dissected romance, marriage, and subsequent divorce of Hollywood power couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck….See More

We’ve all heard and said enough of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s shortlived marriage. The original naysayers of the stars’ second-chance love story are telling us they called it from the get-go.
The believers, like myself, are convinced that there was love in their reconnection, but life happened. Whoopi Goldberg is convinced there was no love.
Whichever you think, you can admit that this topic is a complicated one, most of all for the two parties involved. In his recent GQ magazine interview, Affleck said he still has a lot of respect for Lopez.
If so, then why did he flee from home and block all Lopez’s attempts to communicate with him, you ask? The lack of communication, according to a Lopez source, was what made Lopez throw in the towel and file for the divorce. But hush, let the ladies of ‘The View’ try to make sense of this situation.
Whoopi Goldberg Would Love To Be Left Out of Topics Involving Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Divorce
Whoopi Goldberg knows how to steer away from any topic that’s not bringing her joy, and high on her list is the drama surrounding Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
Coming straight from discussing hard matters relating to Pete Hegseth’s national security scandal, the ladies decided to try a lighter topic.
Yup, they landed on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce. While Lopez might have filed for the divorce last year, Affleck finally addressing it in his cover story with GQ helped to make it a hot topic again.
To Joy Behar, the divorce is as natural as any other – second chance romance or not – as she observed that “people grow apart.” Hostin chipped in, noting that “this was supposed to be true love between Ben and J.Lo.” This, needless to say, sent the table into an uproar.
Goldberg corrected, “No, you said it was true love. You’re the only one who believed that!”
As the show’s very own legal expert, Hostin is perhaps a bit more open-minded than the rest of her co-hosts, and actually expressed hope when news of Lopez and Affleck’s rekindled romance surfaced.
At the time, Lopez was fresh off from breaking up with fiancé and former sportsman Alex Rodriguez and Affleck had a brief thing with actress Ana de Armas.
