Breaking News: Royal Tour Alert! The Palace Announces King Charles & Queen Camilla’s Next Big Trip…. Check In

When King Charles embarked on the royal tour of Australia in October 2024, it marked his first major trip since becoming monarch (and announcing his cancer diagnosis). And he isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Today, the royal family announced that King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, will embark on an official tour in April 2025 to celebrate the Pope’s Jubilee year. The palace shared a slideshow of photos on Instagram and revealed that the royal couple is planning a trip to Italy and The Holy See. (FYI, the latter is located in Vatican City.)
The King and Queen will undertake State Visits to the Holy See and Italy in early April 2025,” the caption read. “The State Visits will celebrate the Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee Year and the strong bilateral relationship between Italy and the UK.”
The royal family shared more details about the upcoming tour on their official website. “During Their Majesties’ State visit to the Holy See, The King and Queen will join His Holiness Pope Francis in celebrating the 2025 Jubilee Year,” it read. “Traditionally held once every 25 years, the Jubilee is a special year for the Catholic Church; a year of walking together as ‘Pilgrims of Hope.’”
The statement also included information about the king and queen’s itinerary for Italy, adding, “During Their Majesties’ State Visit to the Republic of Italy, The King and Queen will undertake engagements in Rome and Ravenna, celebrating the strong bilateral relationship between Italy and the United Kingdom.”
