Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their Christmas card for 2024 but it was missing one thing and royal fans were not impressed.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have left some royal fans unimpressed after they failed to include one key word in their new Christmas card.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared their official Christmas card on Monday which features six pictures thought to reflect the couple’s year, including one showing their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet
Harry and Meghan’s card reads: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful New Year.
The card is intended for professional use by the couple and their team, with the Sussexes sending a separate card to their close family and friends, which will remain private.
However, some Royal Family fans were not particularly impressed that the Sussex couple chose to omit the word “Christmas” from their message.
GB News’s Ben Leo took to X to share the card, saying: “Harry and Meghan send out their Christmas cards – without the word ‘Christmas’ anywhere.
“‘Happy Holiday Season’ with pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex adorned everywhere instead.”
One user seemed to agree and replied: “And offend Christians the world over.”
A second one said: “How very American.”
Another person wrote: “Gets worse every day – doesn’t even look like a Christmas card.”
A fourth one commented: “Don’t bother sending a card if it’s not a Christmas card! Why bother?”
But some defended the couple, writing: “That is an American expression.”
A second person said: “So what! If that’s(sic) all you have to worry about in life its(sic) sad.”
Another added: “It’s very North American. TV stations in Canada talk about ‘The Holidays’ and have done so for at least 15 years.”
