TROUP, Texas — Larry ‘Randy’ Martin, the grandfather of Patrick Mahomes and a longtime educator, passed away at 78.
He passed away on Feb. 12 after he entered into hospice care in January.
Martin, of Troup, had a career dedicated to teaching, counseling, and school administration. He worked at schools in Troup, Maydelle, Palestine, LaPoynor, and Whitehouse, where he touched the lives of countless students. He also worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Gatesville Boys School, and he was a drug and alcohol abuse counselor, according to his obituary.
