Breaking News: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle snubbed from flagship store Royal Family Christmas baubles…. Read More
London’s flagship store Selfridges’ new Royal Christmas baubles have been a hit with shoppers, but Harry and Meghan didn’t make the cut.
The absence of Prince Harry and Meghan from Selfridges’ royal bauble collection has sparked a flurry of online jests, with some suggesting the couple’s ornaments might be found “in the bargain bin.”
At the famed Oxford Street store, royal enthusiasts can purchase £40 ($50.46) baubles featuring King Charles, the late Queen Elizabeth II, or the Prince and Princess of Wales, but there’s no sign of the Sussexes or Queen Consort Camilla.
Social media users have been quick to poke fun at the snub and are not shy to share their comments online, reports the Mirror UK.
One person jokingly asked: “I’m presuming that the Harry and Meghan baubles are in the bargain bin?!”
Another added their quip to the mix: “I am sure Queen Camilla is very grateful!”
Yet not all feedback on the festive decorations has been light-hearted. Some have criticized them as “tacky” while others have expressed disbelief, asking: “Who in God’s name would want to look at William or his dad?”
Critiques didn’t stop at the concept; the design of the royal couple’s baubles also faced scrutiny, with one critic remarking: “Both awful looking. No doubt the royal sycophants on here will lap these up, though.”
Inside Selfridges, reactions were mixed. American tourists, who snapped photos with William’s bauble, balked at the price: “It’s nice – but not for £40!” Meanwhile, another shopper shared her hesitation with a friend, commenting: “They’re sweet – but £40 just for one?”
It’s not just the Royal Family, William’s ornament was displayed alongside those of British legend Audrey Hepburn and American celebrity Post Malone.
The future king’s decoration was surrounded by sparkling figurines of Amy Winehouse, Harry Styles, Freddie Mercury, Britney Spears, and Paul Hollywood.
These festive trinkets, made from colored glass, measure around 12-13cm in height. One features King Charles in his grand Coronation Day attire, while another showcases Queen Elizabeth wearing one of her many crowns.
Selfridges’ website describes its Kate Middleton ornament as “a stunning depiction of Her Royal Highness Princess Kate.”
The retailer also praises its Prince William decoration, saying: “This piece is sure to add a hint of regal sophistication to your Christmas decor.”
