Breaking News: Netflix bosses want a ‘divorce settlement’ in case Meghan Markle and Prince Harry split up….See More

Although rumours regarding a Prince Harry-Meghan Markle split have died down in recent weeks, it appears Netflix executives are keeping a close eye on matters.
That’s because reports suggest the network is hoping for a deal should the couple split, despite their massive contract proving to be a dud so far
Although the Sussexes haven’t lived up to their $100 million contract, executives don’t want to cut ties with them in case of a potential break-up.
That’s what journalist and TV expert Marina Hyde recently stated, as rival streamers are keeping a close eye on the situation.
“The reality is that a lot of people are hanging around in case there’s a divorce,” said Hyde.
“That might be why Netflix, or whoever it might be, who’s got to deal with them, might keep a vague hand in.”
Nevertheless, Hyde noted that Netflix have no intention of renewing their contract with the pair.
Meghan’s new show has been a dud
That’s partly due to Meghan’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, being met with huge criticism.
The show has been deemed “outdated” and unrelatable, and currently holds a 2.9 rating on IMDb.
Nevertheless, Netflix is making a second season of the show, with the Duchess recently posting on Instagram that she’s thrilled with the decision.
“Lettuce romaine calm… or not(!) because I’m thrilled to share that Season 2 of ‘With Love, Meghan’ is coming!,” Meghan captioned a post featuring her in a Netflix cap.
Sources have stated that the second season isn’t a sign Netflix will sign a new deal with the two, as its believed it was already filmed and was part of the initial contract.
“Netflix have been broadly pleased with the show and don’t care if the reviews are scathing,” a TV insider stated.
The streamer’s name has been on everyone’s lips for the past week and that’s a victory for them.
“But it’s now a question of whether they feel that striking another deal represents value for money, or if they feel that they have explored all the opportunities they can with the couple.”
