Meghan Markle has been friends with Lindsay Jill Roth since they met at university and the author has given a rare insight into the Duchess’ marriage to Prince Harry

Meghan Markle’s close friend, author Lindsay Jill Roth, has described Prince Harry as a “wonderful” husband, amid unfounded reports of a split.

Lindsay has penned a new book titled Romances and Practicalities: A Love Story (Maybe Yours!) in 250 Questions, which aims to offer insights into developing greater intimacy.

The book, which combines her own love story with advice from romance experts, includes a special mention of the Duchess of Sussex, who Lindsay has been friends with since their first year at Northwestern University. Lindsay expressed her gratitude for Meghan’s unwavering support, revealing that she hasn’t yet read her acknowledgment in the book.

I have saved that as a little token for her to see when the book comes out. I think it’s rare to find friends who love you unconditionally”, she said. Speaking to People Magazine, Lindsay shared that she feels “lucky” to know Meghan, whom she considers as family.

Over the years, Lindsay and Meghan have demonstrated their close bond by supporting each other’s endeavours. In 2015, Meghan promoted Lindsay’s debut novel, What Pretty Girls Are Made Of, on Instagram, dubbing it the “best summer read.”

She cheekily hinted at her own sneaky appearance in the book, stating, “You’ll have to read it to find out who I am! ” Lindsay has been a vocal supporter of the Duchess of Sussex and even featured in Meghan and Harry’s smash-hit Netflix documentary.

Lindsay walked down the aisle with Brit Gavin Jordan in 2016, with Meghan in the role of maid of honor—a couple of years before Meghan’s own Royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. .

Reflecting upon both ending up as brides to British gents, Lindsay said what truly counts are their spouses’ character rather than nationality. “I often get asked, ‘Is it really special that you both married Brits? ‘ What I always say is, ‘It’s special that we both married such wonderful people’,” she shared.

She had nothing but praise for her hubby Gavin’s incredible support throughout her endeavours, adding, “He’s been along for the ride the whole time.”
