Meghan Markle’s new cookery show is the last chance to turn around the Sussexes’ multi-million pound deal with Netflix, a source claims.
Meghan Markle’s cookery show is “make or break” to “save” the Sussexes’ multi-million pound Netflix deal, a source has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex’s next venture for the streaming giant is due to air next year and will follow the five-part documentary, Polo, of which Prince Harry and Meghan are executive producers.
Daily Mail columnist, Alison Boshoff, writing for the same publication, said “some” are calling Meghan’s cookery show the “last chance” to “save” the Sussexes’ Netflix deal after Polo was largely panned by critics.
Ms Boshoff writes: “One Californian source tells me: ‘It’s make or break. People say Netflix are exhausted. It’s so much work with her and, bluntly, the ‘deliverable’ does not seem to be worth it.
She goes on to cite another entertainment executive who is reported as saying Meghan’s forthcoming show will need to be an enormous hit to turn the Sussexes’ deal around.
However, the writer notes if Meghan’s lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, proves to be a hit, then it could bring in the kind of revenue Harry and Meghan have sought since they stepped back as senior working royals.
