Breaking News: Meet Alina Habba, the glam Trump lawyer & US attorney with RHONJ tie & bitter AOC feud who met president at golf club…Read More

DONALD Trump has named his former defense attorney Alina Habba as the interim US attorney in New Jersey.

The White House counselor will be working in her home state, where she’s a partner at a law firm just eight minutes from where she first met the President at one of his golf clubs.

Trump announced Habba would be taking over for interim US attorney in New Jersey John Giordano in a post on Truth Social on Monday.

“Alina will lead with the same diligence and conviction that has defined her career, and she will fight tirelessly to secure a Legal System that is both ‘Fair and Just’ for the wonderful people of New Jersey,” Trump wrote.

Habba is replacing Giordano after Trump nominated him as ambassador to Namibia.

She has represented Trump in multiple legal battles over the past few years, including lawsuits against the New York Times and his niece, Mary Trump.

The New Jersey native also served as a senior adviser for Trump’s political action committee and helped him on the campaign trail last year.

Years before her rise in the White House, Habba was known for defending Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Siggy Flicker.

In July 2021, Flicker accused Facebook of disabling her account after she wished Melania Trump a happy birthday.

Habba took on the case and said she sent a letter to Facebook for Flicker. However, the outcome of the legal feud was never made clear.

Flicker and Habba have kept up their friendship over the years and often share messages of support for each other on social media.

When Trump announced Habba’s appointment on Monday, Flicker was quick to share a post on X congratulating her pal on the news.

Habba is also known for regularly making TV appearances on networks including Fox News and Newsmax.

The fiery attorney recently found herself in hot water with New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after taking a jab at her on Fox News earlier this month.

While speaking to host Sean Hannity, Habba slammed AOC for previously working as a bartender.

“You were in the bar. You were in a bar. You were in a bar, AOC. Calm down. And not to have a drink, to serve one,” Habba said.

After a video of Habba’s comments started spreading online, AOC called her out while speaking at Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’ rally in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I don’t care what this woman says about me – but I want you to understand that she isn’t just talking about me, she’s talking about you. She’s talking about all of us,” the congresswoman said.

“Trump hired her to speak for him so imagine what it means for our country that the president’s own lawyer cannot even conceive of a working class person being intelligent simply because of the job that they have.”

She added, “This woman could not even recognize the American dream if it was fed to her on a silver spoon.”

HABBA’S RISE
Born to Iraqi immigrants who moved to the US in the 80s, Habba grew up attending a girls’ prep school in New Jersey.

In 2005, she graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

For two years after finishing her first degree, Habba worked at Marc Jacobs in marketing and making accessories.

However, she then went on to get her law degree at Widener University in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2010.

Habba served as a New Jersey Superior Court clerk before working for multiple private practice firms, including one started by her husband at the time, Matthew Eyet, in 2013.

Eyet and Habba were married from 2011 to 2019 and share two kids, a daughter named Chloe and a son named Luke.

She’s now married to Gregg Reuben, who is the CEO of a parking management firm in New York City. She’s a stepmom to his son, Parker.

Habba often posts about her kids on social media and even shares snaps of times she’s taken them to work in the White House with her.

Most recently, she shared a picture of her daughter with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
