The sketch featured a post-apocalyptic world controlled by the pop star and her friend group.
Taylor Swift‘s 2015 girl squad was unforgettable, and so was her reaction to the Saturday Night Live sketch inspired by the group, per Lorne Michaels.
The pop star made headlines that year with her music video for the “Bad Blood” remix with Kendrick Lamar, which featured cameos from Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Jessica Alba, Cindy Crawford, Gigi Hadid, Hayley Williams, Mariska Hargitay and Lena Dunham, among many other stars.
In the months that followed the video’s release, SNL spoofed Swift’s iconic girl group in two sketches during season 41. One skit, “The Squad,” featured a post-apocalyptic world controlled by Swift and her friend group. “In 2015, Taylor Swift created her SQUAD. By the end of her tour, the entire world has joined,” the narrator says in an ominous voice.
