Breaking News: Kim Kardashian announces Nike collaboration as ex Kanye slams brand with cryptic post…..See More

Kim Kardashian took to Instagram to announce that her brand SKIMS will be partnering with Nike to release activewear for women in the Spring – just hours after Kanye slammed the brand.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye ‘Ye’ West may have parted ways a few years ago, but recent social media activity suggests there might still be some tension between the two.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18, Kim made a significant announcement on Instagram about her company SKIMS partnering with Nike to launch women’s activewear in the spring.
However, Kanye had just posted a critique of the brand. Kim’s post read: “Introducing NikeSKIMS. A new brand coming this spring for the body-obsessed. Designed to sculpt and engineered to perform.”
She also shared the news on her Instagram Story, providing a link for followers to sign up for updates on the collaboration.
According to Nike’s website, NikeSKIMS aims “up to disrupt the global fitness and activewear industry with best-in-class innovation in service of all women athletes – championing their confidence, strength, femininity, and competitiveness like never before.”
Fans were quick to express their excitement about the partnership. One follower commented: “Can’t wait to see what’s coming.”
He shared an image of a new silhouette that combined elements of classic Foamposite and Hyperflight designs with a modern aesthetic.
Wale was the first to sport the shoe at the NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco.
In his post, Ye penned: “THIS NEW NIKE DESIGN REALLY MOVED US / REALLY INSPIRED US AT YEEZY WE APPRECIATE YOU GUYS WORK TO THE TEAM TEAM BEHIND THESE THANK FOR MAKING SOMETHING NEW AND SPECIAL, LOVE YE.”
Ye, the creative force behind Yeezy, was previously associated with Nike before moving to Adidas, a partnership that ended in 2022 following his antisemitic remarks.
His collaboration with Nike concluded in 2014 due to a royalties dispute.
During his time with Nike, Ye launched Air Yeezy in 2009, followed by the Air Yeezy II in 2012 and 2014. Fans were quick to point out the resemblance between the new design and Ye’s previous work with Nike, interpreting his post as sarcastic.
One fan noted: “For those who are wondering, Ye made this design first.”
A third added: “For those that are confused, He made this design first.”
Kim and the VULTURES rapper were married from 2014 until 2021 when Kim filed for divorce. The former couple shares four children – North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm – and continue to co-parent.
