An incident in 2018 related to Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress reportedly created some tension between Kate and Meghan

It’s no secret that there’s been some tensions within the royal family in recent years – specifically between Prince Harry and Meghan, and Prince William and Kate Middleton.

In an interview with Oprah back in 2021, and in Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up on some of the issues they had faced prior to stepping back from the royal family and moving to California.

For example, at the time of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, there were tabloid reports that Meghan made Kate cry in the run-up to the ceremony.

However, Meghan said otherwise, telling Oprah: “I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details, because she apologised. And I’ve forgiven her.”

Harry delved further into what happened in his book, with the father-of-two claiming that his wife-to-be and sister-in-law had a falling out over bridesmaid dresses for Princess Charlotte.

Harry says that Kate complained: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home.”

To which Meghan replied: “Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?”
