Breaking News: Kate Middleton and Prince William Give Rare Peek of PDA in Surprise Video from Wales Trip….Read More

The Prince and Princess of Wales have relaxed their stance on affectionate gestures in recent months
Kate Middleton and Prince William were feeling the love during their day out in Wales.
On Feb. 26, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Pontypridd in south Wales in the run-up to St. David’s Day, a day of national celebration, on March 1. It was their first joint trip to Wales in over a year after Princess Kate, 43, reduced her royal responsibilities for most of 2024 after announcing last March that she was undergoing treatment for cancer. (She shared in September that she completed chemotherapy and relayed on Jan. 14 that she is in remission.)
After spending time with the community and hearing from those recently affected by severe flooding, Prince William and Princess Kate headed home by train. In a video shared on X, the couple was seen from behind, sweetly holding hands as they walked through a train station.
“Thank you, Pontypridd!” the couple’s office wrote below the seven-second video, adding emojis of a waving hand and the Welsh flag. Kensington Palace also shared the same message in Welsh in the caption, continuing a tradition around William and Kate’s visits to Wales.
While the Prince and Princess of Wales were known for typically keeping their affectionate gestures out of the public eye, they have shared more glimpses into their love story in recent months. In a Sept. 9 video that revealed Princess Kate had completed chemotherapy, the couple packed on the PDA in several scenes.
The footage, filmed in August in Norfolk by Will Warr, was their most intimate home video yet with their children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — and it showed the family exploring nature and spending time together. The Prince and Princess of Wales were seen laughing, laying on a blanket on the beach together and holding hands in the woods. Kate also affectionately leaned her head on her husband’s shoulder.
The duo even marked Valentine’s Day with a loved-up photo from the same video showing William kissing his wife’s cheek as she laughed and held his hand.
The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Kate said in the Sept. 9 video. “Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
She added, “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face-to-face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
Speaking to PEOPLE after meeting Prince William and Princess Kate on Feb. 26, local Gwyneth Hutton says it’s “fabulous” that they visited the town.
“It’s wonderful that they took the time to visit us here. She’s looking so well – she must be feeling well if is happy to do this kind of thing,” the well-wisher says.
