Sean Hannity left Donald Trump and Elon Musk with their jaws on the floor after he asked them about their settled $10million lawsuit.
Anchor Sean Hannity appeared to catch Elon Musk and President Donald Trump off guard during a sit-down chat with Fox News.
The trio took part in a joint interview for the network, but things took a wild turn when Hannity probed the Tesla CEO and the businessman on a multi-million dollar lawsuit, which they have settled.
In the interview, which was filmed last week but aired Tuesday, Hannity referred to a lawsuit Trump filed against Twitter after its previous ownership banned him after the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Musk took on the responsibility for Trump’s lawsuit when he bought the platform in 2022 and renamed it X. It was reported that X settled with Trump for $10 million last week.
Kicking off the interview, Hannity began, “I’ve got to start with this. So, he’s working for free with DOGE. He’s kind of put a lot of his life on hold and you sued Twitter a number of years ago, and you just made him pay you $10 million?!”
Musk’s jaw dropped before Trump replied, “That’s right. That’s right. I sued from long before he had it. And I mean, they really did a number on me, you know, And I sued and they had to pay. They paid a $10 million settlement.”
Hannity looked at Musk and asked, “You’re okay with that?” to which the SpaceX founder said, “I mean, I left it up to the lawyers and the team running Twitter, so I said, you guys do what you think is the right– makes sense.”
“I think it’s very low. I was looking to get much more money than that,” Trump chimed in.
The President then quipped that Musk got a “big discount” as Hannity pointed out that the duo had developed quite the friendship over the course of last year.
