Breaking News: Donald Trump Reacts to News of Andrew Tate Returning to US…..See More

President Donald Trump responded to news of social media personality Andrew Tate’s return to the United States, following the controversial figure’s legal battles in Romania.
Speaking at a press conference alongside UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump said, “I know nothing about that,” when asked about the Tate brothers’ arrival in Florida.
“I will catch up with the story in due course,” Starmer replied, with the Tate brothers also facing charges in Britain.
Why It Matters
Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, had been in Romania facing charges of human trafficking, sexual misconduct, and money laundering. Their case has garnered significant attention within right-wing social media circles, where they are portrayed as martyrs of political persecution.
The pair, who deny all accusations, were under a travel ban as the criminal investigation continued. However, the Romanian government recently lifted these restrictions, allowing them to return to the U.S.
What To Know
Trump’s brief comment on the Tates’ return contrasts sharply with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ direct condemnation. After their arrival in Florida, DeSantis spoke out, stating, “Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct.”
Following their arrival on Thursday, state Attorney General James Uthmeier took to social media to announce that his office would conduct a “preliminary inquiry” into the brothers. The Tates had just landed in Fort Lauderdale after authorities lifted travel restrictions that had been in place for some time.
Known for their millions of followers in the so-called “manosphere”—an online movement that promotes masculinity, conservative values and rejects feminism—the Tates have been a source of controversy in recent years.
Before the travel ban was lifted, U.S. officials discussed the Tates’ case with the Romanian government. Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu confirmed meeting with U.S. envoy Richard Grenell but denied that his government faced undue pressure in the matter.
This diplomatic effort gained further attention when Grenell, President Donald Trump’s U.S. envoy for special missions, met with Hurezeanu at the Munich Security Conference to discuss the case.
Despite the lifted travel ban, the brothers are still required to appear before judicial authorities when summoned.
The Tates—dual U.S.-British citizens—were arrested in late 2022 and formally indicted last year. They face charges of operating a criminal ring that lured women to Romania, where they were allegedly sexually exploited. Andrew Tate was also charged with rape. Both brothers deny the allegations.
