Breaking News: Donald Trump made himself look foolish as he fumed at NASCAR over Confederate flag…..See More

Donald Trump weighed in on NASCAR’s decision to ban the Confederate flag back in 2020 but made himself look foolish with an incorrect claim.
Donald Trump will be back trackside for the Daytona 500 – five years after weighing in on controversy and making himself look foolish in the process.
Back in 2020, Bubba Wallace, the Cup Series’ only black driver was called out by Trump after an incident involving a rope found in his garage by a member of his team.
An FBI investigation concluded Wallace was not the subject of a hate crime and what was initially believed to be a noose was actually a pull rope that had been tied together.
It was found that the rope had been in the stall given to Wallace since long before it was assigned to Wallace for the race.
Despite the incident not being raised by Wallace himself, Trump accused Wallace of a “hoax” and demanded he apologize.
He also weighed in on the NASCAR decision to ban the Confederate flag from its tracks, claiming “That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!”.
But he made himself look foolish as that claim was simply not true, with NASCAR ratings actually on the rise at that point.
Trump asked if Wallace had: “apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?”
Wallace was an outspoken critic of the Confederate flag and led the campaign for NASCAR to “get them out of” events to make everyone feel more welcome.
