The Duchess of Sussex’s father delivered a scathing assessment of ‘With Love, Meghan’

Meghan Markle has released a new statement regarding her Netflix series after Thomas Markle torn the cooking programme apart.

Thomas Markle criticised Meghan following the release of her Netflix cooking show, branding his daughter “inauthentic” and accusing her of using “pre-planned” facial expressions during the series.

The Duchess of Sussex’s father revealed he had seen “a ton of clips” of the show, though he has not watched it in full

He told the Mail: “Unfortunately Meghan has never been authentic. She has to think about everything. She’s not spontaneous.”

Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed. It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions.”

He added: “I know when she’s faking it for the cameras. She’s trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her.”

However, Meghan has ignored her father’s criticism and instead chose to highlight the show’s success through viewers sharing their attempts and recreating dishes from the series.

The Duchess of Sussex shared several posts on her Instagram ‘stories’ showing fans of With Love, Meghan making meals from the Netflix show.

Meghan wrote as a caption to the footage: “Love seeing how inspired you are by With Love, Meghan.

“Keep up the beautiful work!”

It was revealed on Friday that a second series of With Love, Meghan has already been filmed.

The new episodes will air on Netflix this summer as part of the streaming giant’s five-year deal with the Sussexes.

The current agreement is set to expire in October.

Some industry insiders in Hollywood believe Netflix will choose not to renew the lucrative deal when it ends later this year.

The couple struck a partnership with the streaming giant in 2020 after they stepped down as working royals.
