King Charles has uploaded an emotional video for World Cancer Day, one year on from his shock cancer diagnosis, featuring a handful of famous figures who have also been fighting their own battles.

King Charles has shared a moving video in honour of World Cancer Day today on February 4, one year on from his shock cancer diagnosis

The clip, shared on the Royal Family’s social media channels today, featured a handful of celebrities who have also been battling cancer, including GB cycling legend Chris Hoy, who revealed last year he is terminally ill.

The post is captioned: “This World Cancer Day, we are sending love to all those navigating a cancer diagnosis – as well as the incredible doctors, nurses, charities and families who work tirelessly to support them.”

The caption then listed charities which support cancer patients, including MacMillan, Maggie’s Centres and Cancer Research UK.

In the video, Sir Chris Hoy says: “We’re all in this together, you’re not alone. Keep living life every single day, and keep smiling, and don’t forget to enjoy the here and now.”

The Scottish gold medallist, 48, opened up about his stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis back in October, saying that doctors have given him just four years to live.

Strictly star Amy Dowden is also featured in the compilation after she underwent treatment for stage-three breast cancer in 2023. In the video she says: “I am sending so much love, strength and thoughts to those affected by cancer.

“I remember after I was diagnosed nurse telling me to stop holding it all in. If I needed to have a good cry, let it all out.”

TV presenter Fearne Cotton, who had two tumours removed from her jawline in December, also makes an appearance in the emotional video.

The tear-jerking clip comes after the news that the King’s cancer treatment is “moving in a positive direction” and is continuing into 2025.

An insider told Sky News in December: “His treatment has been moving in a positive direction. As a managed condition the treatment cycle will continue into next year.”

Charles, who ascended the throne in September 2022, has had a difficult couple of years on the throne, with not only his own cancer diagnosis but his daughter-in-law Princess Kate also being diagnosed with cancer just weeks later in March 2024.

However, the source said the King has coped with the past year with a “determination to be as public as he was able” to reassure Britain about how much he is still capable of doing.
