King Charles suffers blow as monarch to continue cancer treatment this year
King Charles suffered a blow as Partridges, a grocery store the monarch trusted for years, is closing its main store in Chelsea after 53 years.
The store has been a favourite in Chelsea and has even supplied food to the British royal family, reported GB News.
Although the main store is closing, Partridges will still have another store open on Gloucester Road and plans to open a new one in 2025, the report added.
In a conversation with the publication, the store’s co-founder, John Shepherd, revealed he is sad to see the Chelsea store go.
“We are very sad to be leaving Chelsea after an incredible 53 years serving local residents,” he said.
“Although our Chelsea chapter is coming to an end, we are looking forward to building Partridges in smaller and more sustainable shop formats across London.
“We hope that this is not goodbye and that many of our current customers will venture over to Gloucester Road to visit us there.”
This comes after it was revealed that Charles will have to continue treatment for cancer in 2025, almost a year after his diagnosis was made public.
In a statement issued to Sky News, a Buckingham Palace source said that Charles’ “treatment has been moving in a positive direction and as a managed condition the treatment cycle will continue into next year.”
