A History of Tension
This isn’t the first time Kim and Kanye’s co-parenting dynamic has hit rough waters.
Their divorce, finalized after Kim filed in February 2021, was marked by Kanye’s public tirades—accusing Kim of kidnapping their kids, criticizing her parenting choices, and railing against her family.
Kim, in turn, has spoken candidly about the challenges, telling Angie Martinez IRL in 2022, “Co-parenting is really f—ing hard.”
She’s also admitted to shielding her kids from the feud, once revealing on The Kardashians that North had struggled with the divorce, even calling Kanye “the best” parent for his laid-back style compared to Kim’s structured household.
Despite these ups and downs, there have been moments of unity. In February 2025, Kim and Kanye reunited backstage at North’s Lion King performance at the Hollywood Bowl, sharing “good vibes” as they supported their daughter.
Kim later told People, “Anytime we’re here supporting our child, it’s always positive.” But that harmony seems short-lived in light of recent events.
