Alastair Stewart shares behind the scenes snaps of Sir Rod Stewart’s 80th birthday celebrations – as King Charles bestows the rock legend with a rare honour….. Check In
Alastair Stewart, son of rock legend Rod Stewart (and cynosure of Tatler’s Little Black Book party last year), has shared some behind-the-scenes snaps from the family’s ultra-exclusive St Barts getaway in honour of his father’s 80th birthday.
Joined by his mother, Penny Lancaster, and much of the Stewart clan, Alastair, 19, offered his 20,000 Instagram followers insight into the family holiday, which saw seven of Stewart’s eight children charter a super yacht around the Caribbean. One photo shows the dynasty gathered together on a wraparound sofa, looking straight out of the White Lotus in their cruise garb. Captioning the shot of the Stewarts, each pulling a goofy face for the picture, Alastair wrote: ‘An unforgettable time, love you all.’
Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster tied the knot in 2007, and have since welcomed sons Alastair and Aiden Patrick, the latter of whom turns 14 next month. Also on board? Rod’s daughter Ruby, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg, her partner Jake Kalic, her half-sister Renee Stewart (whose mother is the actress Rachel Hunter, also mother to Liam Stewart, who joined the family with his partner Nicole Artukovich), and Renee’s partner Adam Sumner.
Kimberly Stewart, whose mother is the actress Alana Stewart, followed in Alastair’s footsteps, sharing some photos of her daughter, Delilah, enjoying the lavish holiday with her grandfather Rod. Kimberly was joined by her brother, Sean, and his partner Julia Stambler, who was once romantically linked to Charlie Sheen.
Rockstar Rod Stewart himself took the opportunity to reflect on his legendary five-decade career as he celebrated his 80th. The singer, who is set to headline the legends slot at Glastonbury 2025, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with his ‘loyal and rowdy’ fans.
‘May I take this opportunity on this my 80th birthday to personally express my gratitude and thanks to all my loyal and rowdy fans all over the world, for helping give me such a wonderful life,’ the Maggie May songster wrote.
‘In return I hope I’ve given you some memorable songs and lively concerts… I’ve not finished yet. Sir Rod.’
He most certainly hasn’t. Indeed, this new decade for Rod Stewart has seen him take on a right royal new role: Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster are joining forces with King Charles as the newest ambassadors for the King’s Foundation.
The pair, who said they were ‘so pleased’ to work alongside the monarch as the charity celebrates its 35th year, joined His Majesty at Dumfries House for a special ceremony in honour of the Foundation on Wednesday.
