Breaking News: Bill Simmons Uses 1 Word To Describe Tom Brady Running The Raiders….See More

Bill Simmons has been a huge fan of Tom Brady for over two decades, but that doesn’t mean he always approves of the legendary quarterback’s moves.
On the latest episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” the former ESPN personality spoke to Peter Schrager about the future of the Las Vegas Raiders. Since Brady is a minority owner for the franchise, he’s expected to play a role in shaping their roster for the 2025 season.
Simmons made it clear that he’s not so confident in Brady’s ability to rebuild the Raiders. In fact, he said it’s “dangerous” to allow the seven-time Super Bowl champion to run the show.
I love Tom Brady. Brought me six Super Bowls, one of my favorite athletes of all time,” Simmons said. “This is a dangerous thing where you have him running a football team thinking he knows what’s best with quarterbacks because he was a great quarterback. Because all of the evidence with the great players we’ve had, name the sport, mostly they’re not good at this. They think they’re seeing things that other people don’t see, and it’s not actually rational.”
Simmons then brought up how several all-time great athletes, like Michael Jordan, failed in front office roles.
“Magic Johnson took Lonzo Ball over Jayson Tatum. You have Wayne Gretzky who ran a hockey team. How’d that go? Michael Jordan ran the Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats forever and he couldn’t be worse.”
Earlier this offseason, Brady reportedly tried to recruit former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Raiders. He ultimately agreed to become the next head coach of the Chicago Bears.
Brady was also linked to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, they met on a ski trip in Montana.
It’s going to be an interesting offseason for the Raiders, that’s for sure.
