The Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle show, With love, Meghan, debuted on Netflix on Tuesday, March 4. The new lifestyle series was originally set to release on January 15 but was postponed due to the deadly California wildfires at the time.
Meghan recently confirmed that the lifestyle show was not filmed in her Montecito, California home. Instead, the mother-of-two revealed that filming took place at a nearby rental. Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, are known to live a private life since exiting their royal duties in 2020 but luckily, there will be scenes shown of their family’s chicken coop, garden and orchard.
The kitchen of the home features From Ceasarstone countertops, a large island and cream cabinetry. The residence also has a Thermador range cooker. The estate also includes eight acres of lemon groves and avocado trees.
The house itself features four bedrooms and four bathroom’s archetype of American design with clean lines and white walls. The property is set on five acres of sprawling Santa Barbara countryside with mountain views and 4,500-square-foot of open-plan living space.
The estate was formerly owed by philanthropists Thomas and Sherrie Cipolla before they put the property up for sale. Since then, the home has likely been renovated as it appears more contemporary in the footage featured in Meghan’s series. In an interview with PEOPLE, Meghan explained why she was interested in filming the show outside of her real home which is located just two miles away.
She said: “I wanted to protect that safe haven. We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day. Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”
Meghan and Harry have two children together, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who have they tried their best to protect from the spotlight. The Duchess admitted that both kids would visit the set and Archie used the filming clapboard in between takes
