Meghan McCain took a swing at Meghan Markle as she jabbed at her ‘boring’ lifestyle branding and declared that she doesn’t want her jam
Political commentator Meghan McCain bizarrely took a swipe at Meghan Markle after the former royal made a rebrand attempt.
Daughter of the late John McCain, she spilled how she truly feels about Markle’s moves to dip her toes back into the lifestyle-business world. Originally, Markle sent around jam samples from a company she called American Riviera Orchard to close friends and influencers. McCain, seemingly, wasn’t on the gifting list, and when Markle rebranded the company to As Ever, McCain slammed the actor as “boring.”
On Wednesday’s episode of McCain’s podcast, she said: “I cannot stand [Markle]. I love people that I can relate to, like every other 40-year-old mom. I don’t want to eat her jam. I love Princess Kate [Middleton].”
It wasn’t only the jam that McCain scoffed at, but she added her disdain for Meghan’s canceled podcast, Archetypes, too. The podcast lasted one season on Spotify before being booted from the streamer with a gruff end and friction from some executives.
“I don’t know what she’s doing. This is, like, her ninth rebrand. I actually had to review her show and her podcast, and it was horrible. It was so boring,” McCain added in her rant.
This isn’t the first time McCain made it clear that she wasn’t siding with Markle who, along with her husband Prince Harry, is currently feuding with the British royal family. McCain expressed her belief that Markle is “disrespectful” to the longstanding British high-ranking social class. With her return to America, though, McCain believes Markle is “out of touch.”
After watching a trailer for Markle’s upcoming Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, McCain said: “Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored. All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced, and out of touch.”
McCain consistently maintained that she wasn’t alone in her feelings toward Markle, insisting that it extended beyond just herself. “Do something to help people instead of your ego. This is why the world doesn’t like you, nothing else,” she said in a message to the Suits star.
Markle’s show is set to release on March 4 and is expected to be jam-packed with major stars invited by her, personally.
