British royal family news reveals that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Prince Harry shut down the Invictus Games in style today. This year the games for disabled military personnel were held in Vancouver.
The two men joined one another at the indoor rowing event, the final sport of the 2025 Games. The closing ceremony featured a handful of musical acts as well as the handing over of the Invictus flag to reps from the city of Birmingham.
Both Trudeau and Harry gave speeches to end the IG at Roger’s Arena, which is the home of the city’s Canucks hockey team.
This was the second time that the Invictus Games have been held in Canada, the first time occurring in 2017. Prince Harry is given some credit for helping to found the Invictus Games in 2014.
They are modeled on the US’s Wounded Warrior Games, providing an athletic event for “wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel.”
The closing ceremony comes one day after US President Donald Trump reversed course and said he would welcome criminal prosecution for Prince Harry if he lied about his drug use in his visa application.
Will Trump Deport Dirty Harry?
Trump previously said he had no plans to deport the Duke of UnSussexful, pointing to the fact that his life is miserable enough given his marriage to “terrible” Meghan Markle.
The Heritage Foundation brought a court case calling for Harry’s US visa application to be revealed after he bragged about his prolific drug habit in the 2023 memoir Spare.
In the book named for himself, Harry boasted about his cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushroom habit, and he’s touted the wonders of ayahuasca.
Harry filed a visa application in 2022, and it is unknown if he was honest about his drug use at that time. If he told the truth, he would have needed a visa waiver, something the Heritage Foundation is seeking clarification on.
