California Rep. Robert Garcia slammed Musk during a House Oversight Committee hearing on his agency, DOGE.

California Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia has launched a scathing rebuke of Elon Musk during a House hearing, saying he brought a “d— pic” to show lawmakers, before displaying a photograph of the tech billionaire.

Garcia pulled the stunt on Wednesday during the first meeting of the House Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, or DOGE. The hearing was chaired by controversial conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Garcia said he decided to bring the picture after Greene showed explicit images of former president Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, during another hearing. He then revealed a poster of Elon Musk wearing a suit.

“In the last Congress, Chairwoman Greene literally showed a d— pic in our Oversight Congressional hearing, so I thought I’d bring one as well,” he said.

“This, of course we know, is President Elon Musk,” Garcia said while showing Musk’s photo, drawing laughter from some lawmakers. “He’s also the world’s richest man. He was the biggest political donor in the last election. He has billions of dollars in conflicts of interest.”

Garcia continued his tirade against Musk, accusing the Tesla CEO of “leading a power grab also abided by and encouraged by Donald Trump.”

During the hearing, democrats slammed Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE, which President Donald Trump has tasked with slashing federal spending.

DOGE’s access to Treasury records, as well as its inspection of various government agencies, has sparked anger from Democrats and critics who have raised concerns that Musk is amassing unaccountable power with little transparency.

On Thursday, Musk called for the US to “delete entire agencies” from the federal government.
