For those who say Meghan is calculated, this video shows the opposite of that – she’s breathy and not the best off-the-cuff storyteller actually. Some will say this her way of thanking Billie and some will say this is a way for her to get attention for work she should be doing quietly.

This video is a Meghan Markle Rorschach test. Whatever we see in the inkblot is a projection of how we already feel about Meghan.

Disney+ is reporting 700,00 subscriber losses after a price increase. It’s not as bad as analysts predicted but no company can be happy with that kind of shed. Hulu is up and in Canada, we get a lot of our Hulu content on Disney+ (this is a big factor in why I have it). Overall, there is a feeling that streaming has gotten worse (more commercials, more restrictions) and simultaneously more expensive, which is pretty much typical of any service that is “bold and disruptive.” Making good film and TV isn’t cheap and conditioning customers to have access to endless amounts of content for next-to-nothing is not sustainable.

What I think people will start to do more is cycle their subscriptions, paying to binge watch a show and then cancelling. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a pay-by-show package in the works for people who only want a specific series. But it’s not exactly bad news for Disney – Moana closed out 2024 pretty strong.

Miranda Lambert hopped on Instagram to read some mean comments about opening for Morgan Wallen. OK I was a little surprised she’s an opener as well but as she read the comments, there’s two different kinds of disappointment coming through: there are fans who are disappointed she’s opening for him specifically (endless issues there) and then there are fans who are disappointed that she’s an opening act. She addresses the opening act but doesn’t acknowledge the issue of working with him. And I don’t know if she needs to because many artists, including Post Malone, work with Wallen with no blowback. He’s big enough to headline a stadium tour and if she says no, there’s plenty of acts who will be happy to take her place.
