Prince Harry and Prince William are believed to have not spoken to each other since the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022, but that could be changing
There may be signs of a possible thaw in the frosty relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William. Having reportedly last spoken at their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, the siblings have faced a noticeably tense dynamic during their recent years apart.
However, reports suggest that the devastating California wildfires in January may have prompted a change. It’s been said that William, among other royal family members, has extended an olive branch to Harry and his wife Meghan Markle by reaching out to offer support.
An insider disclosed to InTouch Weekly: “Many people have been reaching out, most of his family has checked in, apparently Kate was in touch on behalf of her and William, which is huge.”
The source continued: “The messages of goodwill have gone a long way to making Harry feel some renewed hope.”
Furthermore, Harry has allegedly made multiple attempts to reconnect with his father, King Charles III, whom he hasn’t seen in person since February 2024 after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis. With hopes of reconciliation, there’s speculation that the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, could play a pivotal role in mending the rifts within the family.
An insider remarked on the recent events, saying: “That may be hoping for too much, but certainly being this close to such a destructive disaster has highlighted the fact that life is very unpredictable, nothing is promised.”
They continued by noting the significance of family outreach: “[Harry] would have been gutted if his family didn’t reach out, it speaks volumes that they have.”
The tension between Harry and the royal family escalated after he and Meghan renounced their royal titles and relocated to the U.S. Harry’s candid memoir, “Spare,” revealed personal regrets and shed light on internal family dynamics. The couple further drew attention during their candid interview with Oprah Winfrey, discussing their royal experiences, mental health struggles, and their decision to move stateside.
