Poll data provided exclusively to Daily Express US by the Democracy Institute shows many Americans support Donald Trump’s deportation plans.

New data suggests many Americans are in support of five executive orders by Donald Trump on immigration.

The exclusive poll by the Democracy Institute, dated January 27, surveyed 1,500 likely American voters and asked them about the President’s executive actions upon entering office.

This includes his controversial plan to end birthright citizenship for children born to parents who are in the country illegally or temporarily.

President Trump has initiated a nationwide crackdown on illegal immigration, and hinted at plans to potentially house immigrants at Guantanamo Bay.

According to the polling data, 62 percent of those surveyed back his plans to deport illegal immigrants, while 35 percent disapprove.

During his first term, Trump built a portion of a wall to make border crossing more challenging but never finished it. However, 64 percent of the people want the wall completed and expanded, compared to 34 percent who are against the idea and two percent who are uncertain.

According to the data, Trump’s birthright citizenship proposal was approved by 49 percent, with 42 percent disagreeing and nine percent unsure.

Additionally, 56 percent of those polled support the declaration of a national emergency at the US-Mexico border.

Sixty seven percent support reinstating the “remain in Mexico” policy for immigrants, and 60 percent are in favor of deporting terrorists supporting non-citizens, which would include anyone supportive of Hamas.

During his first week in office, President Trump signed 10 executive orders on immigration and issued a slew of edicts to carry out promises of mass deportations and border security.

Some actions were felt immediately, while others faced legal challenges. Some may take years to happen, if ever, but they have generated fear in immigrant communities.

Much of Trump’s actions will involve money. Congress is expected to consider additional support soon. As he did in his first term, Trump may use emergency powers to request the Defense Department’s assistance with a border wall.

The Trump administration has highlighted the participation of other agencies in ICE operations, a departure from Biden.

These include the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives—all part of the Justice Department—and the Homeland Security Department’s Customs and Border Protection, which includes the Border Patrol.
