Abigail Spencer is ready for the world to see an “authentic” side to Meghan Markle in her upcoming Netflix series.
The actress was at the American Heart Association Red Dress Collection Concert on Thursday, Jan. 30, where she was one of their walkers. Abigail shared with The Mirror exclusively at the event about what viewers can expect from the Meghan’s new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which Abigail will be appearing in as well
I’m so excited for the March 4th premiere and as you know Meghan is a glorious human being. It’s a really cool, authentic piece to the Meghan that I know and love,” she told The Mirror.
So I am very excited for the whole world to get a sense of who she really is,” she added.
With Love, Meghan is appearing on March 4 after the Duchess of Sussex’s decision to postpone the original premiere date of January 15 due to the devastating Los Angeles fires.
The series, as detailed by the press release, “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old,” Some of those friends included in the series, along with Abigail, are Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai, and chef Alice.
This is not the first time the Timeless star has appeared on a Meghan Netflix show. She also featured on Meghan and Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, in 2022.
The two have been friends since starring on the USA Network legal drama, Suits. The hit show went on for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. It starred Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman and Gina Torres. Meghan left the Suits in 2018 before her marriage to Harry.
The show has seen a new life and popularity since coming to Netflix and Peacock in 2023. This renewed popularity saw NBCUniversal announcing a spinoff, Suits LA. The upcoming show will debut on February 23 and stars Steven Amell, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg.
When asked if Abigail will make an appearance on the spinoff show, she didn’t shut down the possibility and also expressed excitement for the new cast becoming apart of the world of Suits and send them well wishes.
