Prince Harry ‘blindsided’ by reports of Meghan’s divorce book talks
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced persistent rumors about their marriage, with recent speculation suggesting a potential split. Despite putting on a united front, insiders claim the constant scrutiny has taken a toll on the couple. One source revealed that Meghan has reportedly engaged in discussions with an unnamed publishing house to explore interest in a potential post-divorce book. While Meghan remains married to Harry, the source suggested the book would focus on their hypothetical split if it were to occur.
According to the source, Meghan wanted to “gauge interest” in such a project. However, another insider emphasized that the ongoing rumors have left fans questioning “what’s real and what’s not.” The couple is reportedly unhappy with the constant speculation surrounding their relationship.
Speaking to InTouch Magazine, a source shared, “Harry is definitely obsessed with Meghan,” but acknowledged that the relentless rumors “would give any husband cause to worry. The constant questions about the state of their marriage are bound to take a toll.”
Adding to the tension, another insider claimed Harry was “blindsided” by reports of Meghan’s alleged book discussions. “It’s completely out of left field,” they said. People close to Harry have dismissed the idea of a post-divorce book as inconsistent with the couple’s current dynamic, insisting that they are “happily married.” Meghan is said to be reassuring her husband amidst the rumors. “Meghan convinced Harry she’s in this for keeps. But the pressure these claims have put on them has been intense,” the source added.
Inside Harry and Meghan’s relationship struggles
Reports from Vanity Fair clarified that Meghan’s discussions with the publisher were not an indication of an impending divorce. Instead, the meeting was described as a hypothetical exploration of interest, with no formal offer made by the publishing house. The alleged book would reportedly focus on the aftermath of a potential split from Harry rather than revisiting her divorce from her first husband, Trevor Engelson.
Harry has previously addressed divorce rumors in public, often dismissing them with humor. During an appearance at the DealBook Summit, journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin asked Harry about ongoing speculation and why he and Meghan sometimes attend events separately. Harry responded, “Because you invited me, you should have known,” drawing laughter from the audience.
Reflecting on the constant scrutiny, Harry remarked, “Apparently we’ve divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what? It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it.” He also expressed sympathy for those who perpetuate such rumors, saying, “The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls.”
