Prince Harry has forced one of the largest media groups of the world to apologize
Every disappointment Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have witnessed since they departed the UK has been celebrated by King Charles and Prince William’s loyalists.
The couple’s critics in the UK, who have been eagerly waiting to see Harry get humiliated in his trial against News Group Newspapers, have been left disappointed as the triumphant Duke of Sussex has walked away with millions of dollars.
According to a senior British journalist, the News Group Newspapers has paid Prince Harry an eight figure sum in damages.
King Charles and Prince William or any other member of the royal family is unlikely to publicly comment or issue a statement on Harry’s victory over the media group.
But what Harry has said about his father, brother and Queen Camilla during his media appearances, it’s highly unlikely that they would be celebrating his court victory.
Harry also seems to have succeeded in not giving some royal family members the pleasure of seeing him upset or defeated at the hands of the media.
If Harry and Meghan’s supporters are to be believed, some members of the Windsor family must have been seething with jealousy after it was reported that the Duke of Sussex would be paid an eyewatering sum in damages.
To some King Charles and Prince William would be in awe of Harry who happens to be the first royal in over 100 years to appear in a court and walk away as a winner.
Prince Harry claimed victory in his long-running legal battle against Rupert Murdoch’s British newspaper group, after reaching a deal to settle his lawsuit which included an apology for unlawful actions relating to the Sun for the first time.
Before the trial, Harry said he wants to get to the truth, after about 40 other claimants, including actor Hugh Grant, settled cases to avoid the risk of a multi-million pound legal bill that could have been imposed even if they won in court but had rejected NGN’s offer.
“They have settled because they’ve had to settle,” he told the New York Times Dealbook Summit last month. “One of the main reasons for seeing this through is accountability because I’m the last person that can actually achieve that.”
