Prince Harry and Meghan Markle slammed over statement on Meta policy in latest controversy

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have landed in hot water after issuing “inappropriate” statement against Meta’s changes to fact-checking policies

In a rant, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex criticized Meta, saying it is “allowing more abuse and normalising hate speech.”

The duo asked Meta to reconsider the changes while encouraging them to commit to make online spaces safe.

However, their statement did not sit well with Nile Gardiner from the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

Gardiner accused Harry and Meghan of misusing their royal titles for personal and political gain, saying they are making a “huge mockery” out of the Royal Family with their “hugely inappropriate political rant.”

“For members of the Royal Family to engage in such overtly political matters is, quite frankly, highly inappropriate,” she told Daily Beast.

“It goes against royal protocol. Their use of these titles to further their personal and political agendas makes a mockery of the Royal Family’s customary neutrality,” Gardiner added.

“Their statement wasn’t a moderate call for dialogue or understanding; it was an outright political rant.”
